The timing chip goes on your left ankle and is to be worn throughout the entire event.
CHANGING & Toilet Facilities
  • There will be changing facilities & toilets located on site

The Round Pavilion [25] provides changing and toilet facilities (including disabled) at ground level

The Cricket Pavilion [26] provides changing facilities with toilets and showers. Level access is available to most areas; disabled access would require some assistance.

The Sports Centre is the main race hub and includes:
    - Ground floor: swimming pool, sports hall (race briefing), toilets, and changing facilities

Since these facilities are located within the same building as the transition area, it’s especially important to be mindful of where the timing mats are positioned when moving around.

Water Stations
  • Please see your updated participant pack for info on water stations. There will be water at the finish and you should bring your own water bottle for transition and to go inside of your bikes bottle cage.
Transition
  • Important: Chip Timing & Transition Area Rules

To ensure accurate race results for everyone, it’s essential that all competitors understand how the chip timing mats work.

Chip timing mats are designed to record only two key moments:
    - Your entry into transition (transition in)
    - Your exit from transition (transition out)

If you cross the same “transition in” or “transition out” mat more than once within the same stage of the race, your timing data may be affected and could result in incorrect results.

    - Only cross timing mats when you are officially transitioning during the race
    - Do not step on timing mats when moving around the venue
(e.g. going to toilets or changing facilities)
    - If accessing facilities inside the Sports Centre, you must go around the mats—not over them

    Transition Rules
    - Your helmet must be on and securely fastened before you un-rack your bike
    -
You must not mount your bike until you reach the designated mount line (if applicable)

    Race Stickers
    - 1 x bike sticker
    – wrap around your seat post, facing the rear
    - 1 x bag label
    – attach to your transition bag
    - 3 x helmet stickers – one on the front, one on the left side, and one on the right side

👉 In short: Only cross timing mats when racing, avoid them at all other times, and ensure your helmet is secured before touching your bike.
Swim
  • Make sure you arrive at least 45 minutes before your allotted swim time to check-in at Registration (ClockTower Court), rack your bike and organise your belongings in transition and attend a race briefing.

After your race briefing in the Sports Hall you will be called to the pool foyer for a more in-depth breakdown of the swim, walked through by our TryTri Swim Briefing Officers. The following rules and conditions will be explained:

    Wave Organisation & Pre-Swim Checks
    - Ensure all participants are in the correct lane, wearing the correct swim hat in order (White → Blue → Pink → Green), positioned according to wave timings, and have their timing chip securely on their left ankle.

    Swim Format & Responsibilities
    - The swim takes place in a 25m pool with 8 lengths (novice) or 16 lengths (sprint). Swimmers must count their own lengths and follow a clockwise swimming direction only.

    Lane Setup & Overtaking Rules
    - Each lane has 4 swimmers, with hat colour determining start order and 10-second gaps. Overtaking is done via a toe tap, with passing only at the wall. No diving or backstroke is permitted.

    Pool Entry & Exit Procedures
    - Entry is via a controlled jump or seated entry (no diving). On completion, swimmers must exit through the far-right doors, take the stairs to transition, and walk (no running). Staff will be present to guide and monitor.

Facilities, Spectators & Movement Around the Venue
    - Spectators are not permitted on poolside and should use the viewing gallery on the first floor, accessible from the swim briefing area in the pool foyer. Any participants needing changes must return to registration before entering, and all movement around the pool area must follow staff guidance.
