  1. When is the Swicle? The Swicle event takes place at every Triathlon event.
  2. How much does it cost? £25
  3. Who is the Swicle for? Anyone! Don’t like or cant run? It’s perfect for you
  4. How do I enter? Enter via the active network website, a link for which can be found at www.swicle.co.uk
  5. When do I have to enter by? You can enter right up to the day itself, although entries on the day cost £30 which must be paid in cash or cheque
  6. How old do I have to be to enter? 15 or over by the 31st December this year.
  7. Where does the cycle route take me? The swicle cycle route follows the same route as the Triathlon. The race details for each individual event will be posted online and sent out to conmpetitors nearer to the time.
  8. Do I have to have done a triathlon before? No, the Swicle is aimed at beginners looking to try their hand at a multi-discipline event. TryTri Events always aim to create a non-intimidating atmosphere to welcome beginners and families into the world of triathlons.
  9. What do I have to wear? If you have a tri suit, it would be advisable to wear it, however for those who do not own one, a swimming costume/trunks with a t-shirt put on top at transition works fine. (Tip – make sure the t-shirt is loose fitting, as a tight fitting one will not easily go on over a wet swim costume!)

10. What time do I have to be there? You must have registered at least 20 minutes before your race.

11. Do I need my own bike? Yes, there will be no bikes provided, however there are plenty of bike shops in Hampshire that provide bike rental, such as http://www.northhantsbikes.co.uk, http://www.meonvalley-cyclehire.co.uk.

12. Where do I leave my bike and is it safe? Bikes should be left in transition after registration. There will be a marshal stood with the bikes at all times, so they will be safe.

13. Are there lockers provided? Lockers are available in the swimming pool changing rooms.

14. How do I find out more info? Visit www.swicle.co.uk, feel free to email at events@trytri.co.uk, or give us a call on 02380 273657.

15. Do I need to be a member of BTF (British Triathlon Federation) to take part and if I’m not, do I have to pay more to enter? You do not need to be a BTF member to enter. There will be one price for all, regardless of BTF membership.

16. How will the race be timed? Chip timing will be used for the race. It will come in the form of an anklet that straps to the ankle to be left on from the start to the finish.
