Set in the grounds of Kings School, the pool based swim is 8/16lengths of the shallow pool which only goes to 1.2m deep so ideal for those nervous or weak swimmers. The cycle is on roads towards Farley Mount, with the novice competitors completing one lap, and sprint competitors completing 2 laps. This is a must event for your calendar.

The Swicle will follow the same swim and cycle route as the Sprint Triathlon.

The cycle section is one of our toughest for first timers but still manageable on a mountain or road bike.

Run for both children and Adults is on a safe off road route around the school pitches.

With spectator numbers always high this is a very satisfying and motivating race.

This event is a wave start which means only 20 competitors at a time set off from the pool.

There are prizes for first male and female in each race.

About the Venue

The home ground of the Winchester Triathlon Team – Tri Team Wessex, is Kings’ School in Winchester. The first Try Tri Event was held here in September 2009 and since then this site has been used as part of the SE Youth series, and has been featured on BBC South Today, Hampshire Chronicle and the News Extra.

A beautiful location set in the outskirts of the historic city of Winchester. The swim takes place in Kings’ School pool followed by a  ride which takes you out passed the glorious grounds of the Royal Winchester Golf club, towards Farley Mount before ascending up the Romsey Road back to the school. The run is a lapped run around the school grounds and this year has excellent spectator points, for a motivating finish to your event.

Now in it’s 4th year, the members of Tri Team Wessex are on hand with a wealth of experience to guide you every step of the way and whether its your first event or a warm up to the season this event is always very popular so early booking is advisable.

After the main event there is a junior event to allow youngsters from the age of 8 years old upwards to have a try at Triathlon. Contained within the grounds this is a fun filled family day out and a perfect opportunity for parents and children to have a race each.
